Self Esteem, World of Work and Assertiveness Courses

Developed in 2009 with West End Women & Girls Centre; the Self Esteem, World of Work and Assertiveness Courses aim to make a difference to women's lives.

Self Esteem Course

First run over 8 weeks in 2009, and repeated in 2010 and 2013, the Self Esteem Course looks at the place of women in our society, and encourages women to find confidence in themselves. The course was developed with the West End Women & Girls Centre.

“We learned how to change our behaviour and make us feel good about ourselves.” Participant

World of Work Course

The World of Work course enables women to gain understanding of the process of finding and holding down a job. The 10 week course was developed in 2009 and is currently being repeated in 2013 with West End Women & Girl’s Centre.

“Enjoyed today, thank you! I was nervous but finally got there in the end.” Participant

Assertiveness for Women Course

The Assertiveness for Women Course uses drama techniques to enable women to develop the skills to communicate their needs, wants and feelings assertively. Developed in 2009 with West End Women and Girls Centre the nine week course was first run successfully in early 2010, and repeated later in the year.

“I understood a lot this week. The list of things a woman is meant to be like really put into perspective how much responsibility a woman has. I always go away from the group feeling great.” Participant
