It’s a story about people giving care, despite the challenges and coming together to ask a simple question…we care, do you? Join in a rallying call to show you care and to hear about the incredible work that’s being done by carers across our region to keep our most vulnerable citizens safe and happy.

Over eight months, artist Sharon Bailey met carer groups across Durham, South Tyneside, Gateshead and Newcastle and visited many homes ‘shadowing’ carers within communities.

Two Sides of the Same Coin, written by Catrina McHugh MBE (artistic director and writer with Open Clasp) and inspired by Sharon’s I CARE! diaries. Directed by Rachael Walsh, performed by Beth Crame and Judi Earl with Open Clasp’s Associate Stage Manager, Rachel Glover.

Placards have been produced using original designs by artist Josie Brookes, with the placard holders designed and made by Jon Codd.
